Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

White Chocolate Easter Egg Bark made with Cadbury Easter Eggs (or any leftover Easter Eggs). This is a super simple recipe, much easier than Easter Rocky Road, just melt white chocolate and decorate with Easter Eggs.

Kids will love help making this Easter inspired chocolate bark.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR WHITE CHOCOLATE EASTER EGG BARK

What else can be added to white chocolate bark?

There are many things you can add to white chocolate bark, depending on the theme you are going with, such as dried fruit like cranberries, sprinkles, pistachios, mini marshmallows, chopped cookies like Oreos, chopped pretzels, coconut flakes, goji berries and other types of nuts.

How long does chocolate bark last for?

This chocolate bark will last for two weeks in an air tight container in the fridge.

Can I use dark chocolate or milk chocolate to make the bark?

Yes! of course. You can use your preferred chocolate. I thought white chocolate just looked good to make the other colours stand out.

HOW TO MELT CHOCOLATE

Chocolate melts faster the higher the percentage of cocoa butter and fat, so dark chocolate melts the fastest. Milk Chocolate and White Chocolate have a higher sugar content and so can catch and burn quicker, so these must be stirred continuously when melting. They will also be thicker than dark chocolate once melted.

USING A DOUBLE BOILER TO MELT CHOCOLATE

This is the most controlled way to melt chocolate. Make sure your chocolate doesn’t come into contact with the water or it will seize up and go grainy.

  1. Fill a medium saucepan with about 4cm of water and place over medium heat to a gentle simmer.
  2. Find a bowl that will sit on the saucepan, without its base touching the water.
  3. Lower the heat to a very gentle simmer.
  4. Break up the chocolate and place into the very dry bowl, melt for 4-5 minutes stirring regularly.
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool just slightly before using.

HOW TO MELT CHOCOLATE IN MICROWAVE

You will need to keep checking the chocolate using this method as it can burn really quickly in a microwave.

  1. Put chocolate into a microwave safe bowl.
  2. Microwave on medium setting (50%) for 20 seconds. Open microwave, stir and repeat. Continue until all chocolate has melted.

DOUBLE BOILER METHOD
