The Easiest Homemade Sausage Rolls Ever!
These are a really easy way to make your own sausage rolls and taste way better than the packets of little party sized ones. Get hold of some really good quality sausages from your butcher and they will taste amazing. Perfect for kid’s birthday parties, watching the footy or even something different in their lunchbox.
These were great for Georgia’s 4th Picnic Birthday Party.
These are best made with good quality sausages like these from your butcher. I chose pork, but you could use beef or chicken sausages, they all cook in the same time.
These are great for last minute party snacks, just wrap, cut and cook!
If your sausages are quite short, you could cut one in half and line up one and a half sausages across your pastry and then roll. You would then need 6 sausages instead of 4.
As you can see, your rolling doesn’t need to be perfect…..
It can be a bit messy cutting them, I wiped my knife with a cloth or paper towel between each cut.
It sometimes help to add a teaspoon of water to your egg when lightly beating, it helps break down the yolk a little better.

Ingredients
- 2 sheets frozen, ready-rolled puff pastry
- 4 good quality sausages
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
Instructions
Defrost pastry.
Pre heat oven to 200°C.
Cut sheet of pastry in half and place one sausage at the edge. Roll pastry around sausage and seal together at base. Repeat with remaining sausages.
Cut each into 5-6 pieces and brush with the beaten egg.
Place onto a lined baking tray and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until golden and sausages are cooked through.
Notes
Keep an eye on your sausage rolls as cooking time will depend on the thickness of your sausages.
