INGREDIENTS FOR HALLOWEEN PRETZELS

  • PRETZELS – the smaller the better, they need to have small gaps so the eyes can sit in.
  • WHITE CHOCOLATE – buttons are best as they melt evenly.
  • COCONUT OIL – helps the chocolate melt more smoothly and makes it the perfect consistency for dipping. Don’t add too much or the chocolate won’t set as hard as the fat content has been increased.
  • EDIBLE EYEBALLS – small or medium size work great.

TIPS FOR MAKING HALLOWEEN PRETZELS

  • Have a tray ready lined with baking paper.
  • Melt chocolate in microwave with 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil. Best on low power if possible and no longer than 20 second intervals between stirring. You want to stop just before all the buttons melt so you don’t push the chocolate too far, then it will harden on the bottom. The same if you are using the double boiler method with a saucepan, remove from heat before they all melt. The last 10% will melt from the heat of the chocolate.
  • If the chocolate starts to harden while you are still making, place bowl back in the micorwave for 10 to 20 seconds to heat slightly, which will soften again.
  • Press the eyeballs on straight away so they set in the chocolate.

Description

Halloween Choc Covered Pretzels

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 Mini Pretzels
  • 375g White Chocolate Buttons
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coconut Oil
  • 24 edible Eyeballs

Instructions

Line a tray with baking paper.

Mix white chocolate with coconut oil then melt;
MICROWAVE:
Use 50% power and 20 second intervals stirring between each.  Stop when 90% is melted then just stir until they all melt.

SAUCEPAN:
Place a bowl over a saucepan with about a centimetre of water.  Make sure no water splashes into the chocolate and keep it at a gentle simmer, stirring until 90% of the buttons have melted.  Remove from heat and continue stirring until all melted.

Add eyeballs to the ghosts.

To make the Mummies, use a fork to drizzle extra chocolate across the pretzel, then add the eyes.

Let set completely.

Notes

Make sure your bowl is completely dry, any water will seize the chocolate.

Don’t over melt the chocolate this will also cause it to seize.
