Freshly Squeezed Apple Juice 3 Ways

These probably don’t really need a recipe and may very well be the 3 most simplest juices you will ever make, but that pretty much sums up most of my recipes.  I tend to never have a full fridge and am not one to replace something when it runs out.  I kind of wait until I need it and then don’t get a chance to get to the shops, and so look for a replacement.   Then that thing I thought I needed, doesn’t end up in my grocery basket for another week.  I am a bit like that with filling the car with petrol, I wait until I really, really need it.  (not a great habit and am working on this one) . Anyway these juices are made with fruit and vegetables I do usually have on hand or have growing in the garden, or in Grandma’s garden.

All 3 juices start with 3 apples, making them nice and sweet for kids.

Description

Ingredients

Scale

APPLE JUICE – ORANGE:

  • 3 apples
  • 2 carrots

APPLE JUICE – GREEN:

  • 3 apples
  • handful of spinach and kale
  • 1/2 cucumber

APPLE JUICE – RED:

  • 3 apples
  • 2 carrots
  • 1/2 beetroot
  • 1/4 lemon

Instructions

JUICER METHOD

For each juice, roughly chop the fruit and vegetables and put through your juicing machine.

BLENDER METHOD

For each juice, roughly chop the fruit and vegetables place in your blender with 3/4 cup of water.  Blend until quite smooth then strain through a mesh strainer to remove pulp.

Notes

You can use whatever leafy greens you have on hand, lettuce also works well.

Try and buy organic or home grown where you can, then you don’t need to peel anything.  For non organic I would recommend peeling your apples, carrots and beetroot.
