Oven Baked Haloumi Cheese Sticks with Avocado Dip
We were out for dinner last night at Tony Romas and Sam ordered the Mozzarella cheese sticks. Well he saw a picture of them on the menu and asked if he could have those for dinner. I really didn’t think he would like them at all, but was happy to take the risk on the chance I would have to eat them myself. He loved them though and so did Georgia, which didn’t leave many left for me.
Anyway, we just got back home down south and the fridge is pretty much bare except for the trays of strawberries I bought on the way down, a carton of eggs from Grandma and a block of Haloumi. Oh and I had a couple of avocados and some yoghurt so threw together a dip inspired by Pinch of Yum’s 2 Minute Creamy Avocado Dip. I thought I would see if Haloumi cheese sticks would be just as popular around here.
These were so simple! and done in less that 20 minutes. The kids are asking to have them in their lunchboxes too now.
I oven baked them and they still turned out really crunchy on the outside with a gooey, cheesy centre.
