Easy Homemade Granola using your favourite ingredients sitting right there in your pantry!
Homemade Granola
We have our first wobbly tooth in the house! Well first of the kids, I have obviously had my share of wobbly teeth. Sam is beyond himself with excitement and lucky for me he thinks the tooth fairy leaves chocolate gold coins under your pillow….. bargain!
This is one of those recipes that develop from avoiding a trip to the grocery store. Digging around the fridge or pantry and coming up with possible combinations. Granola is such a versatile recipe, pretty much anyone could make it at any time by doing the same sort of scrounging. Admittedly I finished off a heap of almost empty packets, cleaned out my pantry and introduced a new breakfast cereal without leaving the house.
We are using this as a snack on the go or on top of fruit and yoghurt. I wouldn’t recommend having a full bowl of this every morning for breakfast, may be a tad over indulgent…….
Granola is a fairly basic mix of oats, nuts, spices, oils, sweeteners and fruit. Really easy to mix and match. You can leave your nuts and seeds whole or crush them slightly. Don’t put them in a food processor or it will dry out your granola too much. Anyway, just have some fun with it and use this guideline to mix and match your own!
