These delicious Classic Belgian Waffles have a lovely crisp exterior with a light and fluffy inside. Top them with some maple syrup, butter and fresh berries and you’re in for a treat.

CLASSIC WAFFLE RECIPE


Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 6 tbsp / 84g butter
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle iron.
  2. In a large bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. In a small saucepan melt the butter, then add the milk to warm slightly.
  4. In a separate bowl whisk the eggs.
  5. Add the eggs, milk, butter and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and whisk until well combined.
  6. Scoop the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve immediately with butter, maple syrup and berries.

Notes

You can freeze in an airtight container and reheat by toasting in your toaster.
