The smoothie with everything…… sweet, healthy, juicy, fresh and filling!
Sam, my 3 year old woke up this morning and said he dreamt he was at a petrol station with Buzz Lightyear and when I came to pick him up I was in a different car. “Where was your car Mummy?” …….. and so begins another day of tricky questions.
This smoothie makes a great start to the day and you can even prep all the ingredients in a jar, ready to blitz in the morning. Everything but peeling the banana works.
the perfect green smoothie
makes 1 large, or 2 medium smoothies
1 cup baby spinach leaves
¼ cup parsley
½ banana, frozen if you like
1 orange, peeled and roughly chopped
¼ of a cucumber
1 tsp spirulina powder (optional)
5 Medjool dates, pitted
300ml coconut water
sml handful of ice (this helps in the breakdown of the fruit and stops the juice from going foamy)
Place all ingredients into the TM mixing bowl and blend 2 min / speed 10. Just add more coconut water if you want a thinner consistency.
NON THERMOMIX METHOD
Place everything into a blender and blitz for at least 2 minutes, until smooth. Just add more coconut water if you want a thinner consistency.
