I remember being so excited about starting solids with my first baby. Looking up recipes and putting so much thought into what i was going to feed him. Boy did I underestimate how much work goes into feeding one little baby! Taking the time to prepare the food, then fitting meal times in between milk feeds and naps and barely even entertaining the idea of leaving the house. Seems you just finish cleaning up from one meal then its time to start preparing the next. Not that it gets any easier. Now I have two toddlers who are guaranteed to say “yuck” or “I don’t want that” to whatever is put down, so then I try and find something to bribe them with…….. “if you eat all your lunch you can have………. macadamia & banana smoothies!” Well it worked for today at least…………
healthy macadamia & banana smoothie
1 frozen banana
5 macadamia nuts
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp maple syrup (optional)
Place macadamia nuts in processor and blend until finely chopped. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
This will make two kids size smoothies.
